With 20 years now in "the biz," I know a thing or two about filmmaking and post production. I started my career in 2001 as a matte painting assistant in LA after graduating from Vancouver Film School (Vancouver, BC). I went on to work as a compositor on many blockbuster (and not so blockbuster) studio films at various facilities in Hollywood and around the world before going freelance some time in the mid 2010's. Since then, I have worked in post production and set on various indie film sets (as a director, camera op, 2nd AD, producer and VFX supervisor.) My side passion is writing, producing, shooting and directing my own work. I have also have extensive experience as a video editor, working in Premiere, Final Cut and Avid. I've edited corporate, commercial, narrative, music video and other promotional video.
After moving back to Austin, TX in 2015, I've focused largely on independent cinema, commercial or corporate work. If you're an indie film producer looking for help on your film, check out my business portfolios at :

Available from Routledge Press! VFX for Indie Filmmakers, co-written by Laurie Powers Going and Shaina Holmes. This book is an introduction to visual effects for independent and low-budget filmmakers. It familiarizes filmmakers with VFX processes, terminology, budgeting, hiring, best practices, and timelines and explains how filmmakers can work with VFX professionals on any budget. The text is accompanied by real world examples and interviews from independent filmmakers, VFX artists, and VFX adjacent industry professionals.
